    ONE YEAR FOUNDATION PROGRAM

    The One-Year course provides the students with a firm foundation in design thinking and the basics of technical drawing and exposure to various types of materials used in interiors.

    One Year Foundation Program

    The One-Year course provides the students with a firm foundation in design thinking and the basics of technical drawing and exposure to various types of materials used in interiors. Students will learn to design Residential Interiors, and on completion of the course will be able to work as residential designers, interior stylists, colour consultants, kitchen and bathroom designers among other professional opportunities.

    Fundamentals of Design:

    This subject exposes the students to the basics of design and the fundamentals of design theory. Students will learn to understand and appreciate design by exploring and applying the various elements and principles of design including colour and colour theory. The study of human factors like ergonomics and anthropometry will be an integral part of the course so that students will be able to understand the relation between the natural and the built environment.

    Visual Communication and Presentation:

    This subject forms the foundation of an interior designer’s work as it helps the designer to come up with and communicate original ideas. The subject includes basics of technical drafting, illustrative sketching and presentation of work using various Medias.

    Studio for Residential Space:

    This design studio introduces students to the concepts of designing residential spaces. Students will learn how to conceptualize design and execute it using techniques. Space planning, defining finishes and materials for a space as well as making working and presentation drawings will be an integral part of the course.

    Interior Construction and Detailing:

    In this subject the students will learn the importance of various types of constructional details as applicable to interior spaces. The study of the various parts of a building and their role in the overall structure will form the basis of this course.

    Essentials of Materials and Systems:

    It is very important for an interior designer to have a good understanding of the materials and finishes available and being used in interiors. This subject helps the students to learn about the properties and usage of various materials available in the market today. Along with this students also learn about building systems such as sanitary and plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems etc.

    TWO YEAR ADVANCE PROGRAM

    The Two-Year course provides the students with all the knowledge and information required by a professional interior designer including professional practice, budgeting and estimating quantities and cost.

    Two Year Advance Program

    The Two-Yearcourseprovides the students with all the knowledge and information required by a professional interior designer including professional practice, budgeting and estimating quantities and cost. Along with this, students learn to design and handle commercial spaces such as office, retail and hospitality design. On completion of this course students can work as independent interior designers able to handle all kinds of residential and commercial spaces.

    Evolution of Interior Design:

This would be a theory-based course and would focus on the various components that students would study and apply in their creative efforts.

    Studio for Work Space:

    This subject focuses on planning and designing of a working or an office space. Students will learn the fundamentals of the various types of working environment and how to design a functional and aesthetically appealing working space.

    Studio for Retail and Store:

    Retail designing is one the most sought after skills required for an interior designer working in the commercial space design. In this subject students learn retail psychology and how design influences the process of marketing and branding.

    Studio for Café and Restaurant:

    This subject exposes students to the field of hospitality design which includes cafes and restaurants among others. Students will learn to create environment for various kinds of hospitality spaces such as themed restaurants, QSR (quick service restaurants) and cafeterias.

    Business of Interior Design:

    It is very important for an interior designer to have an understanding of how to run a business and marketing his/her skills. In this subject the students will also learn how to prepare estimates and write specifications for a design project.

    Three Year Specialisation Program

    The Three –Year offers the students an opportunity to specialize in various aspects of interior design such as Vastu Shastra, Portfolio Development, Bathroom and Kitchen Design as well as upcoming fields like Transformable spaces and systems. Students can become professional practitioners in any/all of these fields after completing this course.

    Portfolio Development and Presentation:

    A portfolio is the compilation which showcases the work carried out by the student/designer. Students will learn about the various types of portfolios which can be made and how to best present their work to prospective clients or employers.

    Transformable Systems and spaces:

    The living spaces in all cities across the world are getting reduced because of urbanisation and high property prices. People have to find multiple uses of the same spaces and furniture pieces to fulfil their living requirements. This subject exposes students to techniques and systems which can transform spaces but do not compromise on comfort or aesthetics. Companies around the world are designing furniture that disappear into walls, can be stowed via remote control, or are even stored on the ceiling. Kid’s furniture is another big aspect that will be covered.

    Applications of Vastu and Feng Shui:

    Now-a-days the traditional methods of spatial planning have seen a revival in the general public, so it is important for an interior designer to have a good understanding of these methods and their application. This subject gives an overview of the principles of Vastu Shastra and Feng Shui.

    Future of Bathrooms and Kitchens:

    Bathrooms and Kitchens have changed over time and have become as important as bedrooms and other living areas of homes. This subject will enable students to broaden their perspectives and design the kitchens and bathrooms more lavishly and for a variety of interiors.
